MediResource embarks on tenth season of pharmacy continuing education!

MediResource celebrates the start of their tenth consecutive season of developing and publishing professional continuing education lessons for pharmacists. These home study offerings enable more than 21,000 pharmacists across Canada to gain valuable continuing education credits, mandatory in most provinces to maintain a licence to practice. Topics from the past year range from nutrition and use of over-the-counter medications during and after pregnancy to recognizing drug diversion to the management and treatment of conditions such as glaucoma and IBD. All lessons are accredited for a three-year period by the industry’s national accrediting body, Canadian Council On Continuing Education In Pharmacy (CCCEP).

In partnership with the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA), MediResource distributes these lessons online as well as in print and electronic format to allow pharmacists to engage in learning whether at home, at work, or in-between.

Toronto (MRI) - MediResource, in partnership with the Parkinson Society Canada and a leading pharmaceutical company, conducted two web casts that provided information to more than 1,300 Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients and caregivers. Each web cast featured a key thought leader who discussed PD and the importance of recognizing non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and the impact of medications wearing off over time. Patients in Montreal and Toronto had the option of attending the live sessions. Other patients from across the country participated in the sessions via web cast or by accessing the archive of the web cast at their convenience. Web casts are an example of innovative solutions that allow patients to receive important information on their condition regardless of where they live in Canada. The Medbroadcast and portal network provide the mechanism to ensure web casts such as this one reach a large audience of interested patients and caregivers. Programs like these are an excellent example of how partnerships between patient organizations, pharmaceutical companies and MediResource can directly benefit patients in all disease areas and all locations.
