drugs. Want to know how your medication works and what it can do for
you? Concerned about possible side effects? Need to know about drug
interactions and other precautions? Or just want to make sure you're
taking the drug the right way? Here is where you find out. Just enter
the brand name or common name in the box above and click GO. Or click
on a letter to find all brand names beginning with that letter.
Uncertain about brand names and common names?
All medications have both common (generic) and brand names. The brand
name is what a specific manufacturer markets the product as (e.g.,
Tylenol®). The common name is the name of the actual medicine
(e.g., acetaminophen). Most commercial products are like this. For
instance, Parkay® is a brand name and margarine is a generic name.
Take the time to look at the label on your medication bottle. It will
state the brand name, common name, or both. It will also give important
dosage information. If you don't have the medicine on hand, you can
ask your doctor or pharmacist for the name.
